The Four Seasons is in search of a Passionate Sous Chef with an interest to inspire and lead an ambitious Team.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee staff training and development for menu changes
Communicate clearly and often with the Chef and Kitchen staff, fellow members of the Chef team and colleagues throughout the Food and Beverage division
Develop & foster strong relationships with kitchen team
Develop seasonal menus that highlight fresh, local product, and oversee their recipe design and output
Develop a comprehensive understanding of Birch Street including but not limited to costing, recipe input, ordering and purchasing processes
Assist in the payroll process for the Kitchen team
Assist with the control of labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions and inventory control
Ensure that sanitation standards as set forth by Four Seasons, local, state, and federal regulations are in compliance as well as the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
Maintain control systems that will assure quality and portion consistency, monitor food shipments to ensure they meet established purchasing specifications as well and foster an awareness of the importance of food preparation and quality
Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
Communicate effectively with team members a various level within the organization in both verbal and written form
Mentor and develop skills within the Team to enable them to grow within their role and within the company
Coaching and mentoring other leaders within the department
A consistent approach to accountability to ensure the constant delivery of excellent product
Assist with Recruitment, selecting, training and coaching Team Members
Passion for being innovative and able to quickly adapt to changing environments/demands
Adhere to Four Seasons Hotel’s standards as well as policies and procedures
Complies with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in Employee Handbook
Works harmoniously and professionally with all co-workers
Requirements:
Preferably has luxury hotel & culinary background
4-6 years of experience in related field
Excellent command in English, Arabic is an advantage
