Job Description

Accountable for success of daily kitchen operations, culinary tasks, and food-related functions. Responsible for ensuring food quality standards, staff development, customer service, and compliance with food handling regulations.

Job Responsibility

  • Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures
  • Estimates daily production needs and communicates these to kitchen personnel
  • Assists the Executive Chef with kitchen operations and preparation
  • Prepares and cooks foods regularly or for special occasions
  • Develops new culinary applications and creative presentations
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and food preparation workers
  • Leads shifts and personally prepares food items
  • Encourages team collaboration, trust, and respect
  • Provides above-and-beyond services for customer satisfaction and retention
  • Handles guest feedback, complaints, and relations
  • Plans and achieves performance goals, budget goals, and team goals
  • Trains employees in safety procedures
  • Improves service by coaching and mentoring staff
  • Participates in staff performance appraisal
  • Attends and participates in meetings

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
