Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to support the culinary team at Bethany School in Goudhurst, Kent. You will be responsible for assisting in the creation of exceptional menus, managing kitchen operations, and delivering outstanding food experiences to our pupils, staff, and visitors. This Sous Chef opportunity would be ideal for a strong CDP who’s ready to take the next step in their career, gain more responsibility, and continue developing within a supportive team.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in leading kitchen operations ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation
  • Assist in creating innovative and seasonal menus tailored to the school’s requirements
  • Along with the Head Chef, manage kitchen staff, training, and development
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding policies
  • Collaborate with the wider catering and school teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Passionate about fresh, quality ingredients and innovative menus
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and financial management skills
  • Knowledge of current food trends, sustainability, and allergen control
  • Right to Work in the UK
