Job Responsibility:
cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate
stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area and keeps display equipment clean during meal service
interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers
monitors inventory and deliveries of products and supplies, tracks product production, consumption and waste, and informs supervisor when supplies are low
performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
previous experience as a sous chef required
ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
willingness to work full-time schedule including early morning hours
compliance with drug-free workplace policies
ability to work effectively in a team environment
strong attention to detail and time management skills
previous experience as a sous chef
knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
ability to supervise and manage kitchen staff
strong organizational and communication skills
understanding of portion control and food presentation standards
experience with inventory management
customer service orientation
