Job Description:

This onsite contract position is for a Sourcing Specialist, Diagnostics Direct Procurement who will be responsible for executing Direct Procurement Operations activities, ensuring alignment with Category Management strategies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Executing Direct Procurement Operations activities, ensuring alignment with Category Management strategies
  • Focuses on supplier management, escalations, master data management, cost savings, and continuous improvement
  • Understands and frequently uses quantitative and / or qualitative data to drive decisions
  • Identifies risks to support statements or hypotheses
  • Works independently to develop and implement a negotiation plan / strategy
  • Good communication skills and demonstrated understanding of translating business requirements into procurement specifications with customer service in mind
  • Tailors messages and communications appropriately with limited supervision to ensure understanding
  • Contributes to meetings and team presentations/briefings and asks appropriate questions to gather information

Requirements:

  • University degree, with a business-related degree, preferably a post-graduate business qualification
  • 3+ years of procurement experience with experience in basic contracting, business enterprise systems, and spot buying
  • Basic level of proficiency in business enterprise tools and understanding of the end-to-end procurement process
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding in supporting cost reduction and value improvement programs

Nice to have:

  • Experience in operational excellence or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience in Life Sciences
  • Experience with enterprise systems and procure-to-pay tools and eSourcing tools
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP software
  • Keen analytical acumen
  • Proven success in proactively managing deliverables to ensure timely completion
