At Randstad Defence, we’re proud to be partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS)—a leading force in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced defence systems— currently seeking a Sourcing Category Manager to join their team in Canberra. If you are an organised and driven professional looking for a career as a Sourcing Category Manager this opportunity is for you to join a growing Australian technology company. The candidate must be an Australian citizen and be eligible for a security clearance. This role is responsible for the sourcing and procurement of make-to-order items from external vendors, and for managing on-time delivery and technical and quality issues relating to such supplies in accordance with EOS commercial, production, and supply chain management objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analysing specifications and drawings, and sourcing and requesting quotes for supply of make-to-order materials and components for EOS production requirements
  • Communicate with vendors regarding specification and quality issues and request concessions, following EOS DS processes and procedures
  • Work with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to align with the Production Schedule to meet company objectives
  • Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production
  • Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors as required, and update systems
  • Liaise with relevant EOS DS stakeholders as needed to resolve queries and to ensure all required information is available to complete the RFQ and purchase process

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials
  • Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded
  • CIPS accreditations are highly regarded
  • Comprehensive experience in international sourcing and procurement
  • Experience in interpreting requirements of, and sourcing products and materials using engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience working with ERP systems and MRP systems

Nice to have:

  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded
  • CIPS accreditations are highly regarded
