The SORNA Data Processor will enter all pertinent data into systems and reporting systems. This position is to assist in a full range of tasks relative to the effective management and enforcement of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA). Assists in regular reports made to the funding agency stating the activities accomplished and where the activities are located on the timeline. The SORNA Data Processor will assist in securing the wellness and safety of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska citizens and tribal communities.
Job Responsibility:
Ensures convicted sex offenders are registered and consistently maintained with Tribal, State and Federal registries
Perform as secondary liaison with sentencing jurisdiction, court personnel, community people/groups, service provider organizations, state agencies, and law enforcement agencies
Verify data by comparing it to source documents
Type in data provided directly from clients
Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
Assists with general administration duties
Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
Update existing data
Assists convicted sex offenders with registering and consistently maintains compliance with Tribal, State, and Federal registration laws
Assists convicted sex offenders with compliance with court orders and/or probation or parole
Assists with conducting office interviews to ensure offenders compliance
Utilizes all suitable methods to aide and encourage offenders to improve their contacts
Refers sex offenders for evaluation for chemical dependency, sex offender treatment programs, etc., and assists in maintaining contract on client's fulfillment of mandated court orders
Develops and maintains case files as assigned by supervisor
Helps in creation and maintenance of caseload database
Arranges law enforcement and community education workshops
Assist in all the SMART Grant activities
Works with the Finance Department to assure the financial structure of the grant is well maintained
Helps in preparation of reports for the SMART Program Manager and the ONLES Chief of Police in a timely manner
Works with procurement to provide all travel and training sessions for the Tribe's SORNA Team and attend all conferences and training as required under this Program
Works closely with the other law enforcement agencies and facilitates activities to reach the goals and objectives of the Program in a timely manner
Works with State and Federal law enforcement agencies and as a member of the Tribe's SORNA Team
Assists in ensuring that the Sex Offender Registry Notification Act is implemented and all codes are followed
Ensures that website is maintained regularly
Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings pertaining to tribal and Federal compliance of SORNA
Assists with the submission of annual reports to the Tribe's Attorney General for approval
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Experience in law enforcement
Must possess a valid Nebraska Drivers' License
Ability to plan & execute duties and work well with others
Knowledge and use of good judgment with the ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
Knowledge and use of computers and the programs necessary to perform duties
Good coordination skills
Background in coordination of services
Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
