Job Responsibility

Produce high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam
Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation
Instructs and educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedure
Able to access PACS, review studies, and perform basic functions for image manipulations. Resolve QA issues, close studies as reviewed, burn CD’s, transfer images, and print from PACS
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
Maintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the department

Produces quality ultrasound images to support patient care activities to include General, OB/GYN, and Vascular procedures
Assess patient's condition/information and determine the appropriateness of procedures to be performed and to establish medical necessity
Evaluate patients for the presence or absence, severity and location of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effective procedure(s) from an array of anatomic, hemodynamic and physiologic procedures including duplex scanning, plethysmography, doppler ultrasound, pressure measurements and active or passive hyperemic challenge
Record test results and report the results to the physician upon completion of testing
Document and prepare patient records for review and interpretation by physician, including the selection, recording, cross-referencing of significant or representative studies
Prepare a complete and accurate written report for subsequent review and signature
