The Perinatal Sonographer I utilizes high frequency sound waves along with color and spectral Doppler ultrasound to assist in the monitoring and growth during pregnancy. Reviews/mounts test results for physician interpretation.
Job Responsibility:
Utilizes high frequency sound waves along with color and spectral Doppler ultrasound to assist in the monitoring and growth during pregnancy
Reviews/mounts test results for physician interpretation
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures as prescribed by a physician
Prepares patients for interventional procedures
Obtains diagnostic sonographic images by scanning the appropriate body part of the patient with the transducer
Assists Radiologists and other Physicians in the performance of exams and procedures
Performs exams in all areas of the hospital such as portables on units, portables in ED and portables in OR
Maintains the integrity of a sterile field during procedures that require one
Assists Imaging Support in locating films, printing reports, and assisting physicians
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of an ARDMS or AART approved ultrasound training program
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) within 90 days of hire
