This job is responsible for performing obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound examinations at a technical level in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements. An incumbent assumes responsibility for the safe, efficient and proper operation of ultrasound equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Executes all varieties of obstetrical and gynecologic diagnostic ultrasound exams
Serves as a liaison between patients, interpreting physicians and referring providers
Utilizes appropriate educational resources to maintain currency in diagnostic sonography
Performs incidental office duties as necessary to maintain the completeness of the patient record
Assists with Quality Assurance/Improvements audits and activities as required
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited training program in Cardiac and/or General diagnostic radiology (Certificate in sonography)
Recent completion of a twelve-month internship in diagnostic ultrasound or equivalent recent directly-related work experience
Current registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Current certification by the American Association of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)
Current Health Care Provider BLS certification
