PRN Sonographer Trainee position in Obstetrics/Gynecology. Scheduled hours would be during available time outside of her required courses and clinic hours for the FTCC Sonography Program.
Job Responsibility:
Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment
Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Assumes responsibility for keeping informed about changes in policies and procedures
Participates in departmental in-service and educational offerings
Contributes to the overall quality of services
Performs or assists in performing quality ultrasound examinations in a timely and efficient manner while under the supervision and/or direction of a staff Sonographer
Schedules procedures and maintains appropriate records that contribute to the efficiency of department operations
Coordinates with other departments as needed
Assists with room preparation and restocking of rooms and other departmental storage areas with supplies necessary for patient care and procedures
Participates in educational activities to enhance patient care and quality of services provided
Ensures age/developmentally appropriate care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Current enrollment in an AMA or CMA accredited program in diagnostic ultrasound required
CPR certification through American Heart Associate or American Red Cross required
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate on a professional level
Ability to work as part of a team, with physicians, co-workers and other members of the health care team
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Ability to work in a fast-paced and potentially stressful environment
Ability to accept constructive criticism and performance evaluation/feedback
