The Perinatal Sonographer workload and workspace have been carefully designed to reduce the risk of work related injuries. As a Perinatal Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing low and high risk perinatal obstetric (OB) ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. The Perinatal Sonographer should have special interest and expertise in prenatal diagnosis and OB ultrasound with the ability to recognize normal and pathological conditions and apply additional modalities as indicated (i.e. Doppler, 3D/4D).Additionally, the Perinatal Sonographer will obtain relevant history via EMR, image according to protocol, review cases with the care team, and generate preliminary reports using structured reporting software. Familiarity in recognizing and troubleshooting various imaging IT issues is required. You may also be required to perform other duties, as assigned.
Job Responsibility
Performing low and high risk perinatal obstetric (OB) ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols
Recognize normal and pathological conditions and apply additional modalities as indicated (i.e. Doppler, 3D/4D)
Obtain relevant history via EMR, image according to protocol, review cases with the care team, and generate preliminary reports using structured reporting software
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
Commitment to continued education in MFM ultrasound by obtaining at least 15 CMEs (20CMEs for Principal level)every 36 months in detailed OB ultrasound and/or fetal echocardiography
Recent, relevant clinical experience in an OB or MFM (fetal) ultrasound setting
Demonstrate knowledge of sonographic assessment of maternal-fetal conditions including athorough understanding of fetal anatomy, physiology, anomalies, and high risk maternal factors
