Job Description

The Dinex Group, restaurant group of Chef Daniel Boulud includes Le Pavillon, a midtown culinary oasis located on the 2nd floor of One Vanderbilt off 42nd street. We are seeking an experienced Sommelier who has a passion for hospitality to join the team! The ideal candidate is someone who exhibits a willingness to grow and learn, is knowledgeable about wine & spirits alongside French cuisine and above all, guest experience!

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain an award-winning international wine list that meets the goals set by management for ensuring proper service of all wine
  • Assist in staff trainings and keeping the team up to date on all changes to the rotating by-the-glass selections
  • Organization of the cellar and other wine storage locations
  • Verify the accuracy of wine deliveries and their invoices
  • Execute monthly inventory
  • Guide guests towards food & wine pairings to accentuate their dining experience
  • Ensure that wine service runs smoothly

Requirements

  • 3+ years of fine dining restaurant experience in a similar setting
  • Desire and dedication to offer premier fine dining experience
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • High volume experience
  • Full availability - daytime hours, evening hours and weekends

  • Serve as product knowledge expert for the Campari Champagne brands, including Lallier and Fleur de Miraval, as well as the category as a whole
  • In a very crowded category, educate trade and distributor partners on key points of differentiation
