As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for elevating the guest dining experience by providing expert wine service, curating the wine selection, and offering personalized pairing recommendations. You will ensure that every guest enjoys a refined and memorable experience through your deep knowledge of wines, spirits, and food pairings. Working closely with the culinary and service teams, you will contribute to seamless operations, staff education, and the overall success of the Food & Beverage department.
Job Responsibility:
Create memorable guest experiences through engaging service and in-depth knowledge of wine, beverages, and menu pairings
Advise guests on wine selection, providing tailored recommendations that enhance their dining experience
Oversee daily wine service and support the service team in delivering professional and consistent standards
Maintain communication with the wine storeroom to ensure proper stock levels, accurate vintages, and product availability
Assist in developing and updating the wine list, staying informed of new releases, vintages, and market trends
Conduct or assist in staff training sessions to improve product knowledge and confidence in wine service
Drive wine sales through upselling initiatives and guest engagement
Collaborate with the culinary team to design appropriate food and wine pairings
Ensure the smooth flow of wine service during busy periods, maintaining attention to detail and timing
Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in accordance with company and local standards
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Sommelier or in a similar F&B role within a luxury or fine-dining environment
Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, and beverage trends, with strong pairing and service skills
Excellent communication and guest engagement abilities
Proven ability to lead by example and assist in developing the team’s knowledge and performance
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service
High level of spoken and written proficiency in English and Spanish
Candidates must hold a valid work permit that allows them to work legally in Spain
Nice to have:
Professional certification in wine studies (WSET or equivalent) is preferred
