Job Description:

The position will have working knowledge of the wine list offered at the resort with extensive knowledge about each wine offered, its background, taste and is regions history. The Sommelier will also be equipped to make recommendations for wine pairings with all dishes served within the resort.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits and ensure quality of all food or beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods
  • Make recommendations for wine pairings with all dishes served within the resort
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed
  • Ensure all menus in the Restaurant are clean and updated
  • Assist team and DH to assist team in achieving department goals
  • Assist with set-up and cleaning of operational areas
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by Outlet Manager
  • Maintain accurate wine inventory records and ensure timely updates to inventory management systems
  • Follow established protocols for wine requisitioning
  • Ensure optimal storage conditions for wine inventory
  • Conduct regular audits of wine inventory
  • Monitor and manage wine cellar organization

Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years bartending or related work
  • Ability to pour, mix, and blend a wide variety of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks
  • Excellent knowledge of wines, spirits and cocktails
  • Flexible schedule, ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Possess legal work authorization in the United States
