Job Responsibility:
Actively perform wine service focusing on guest experience and sales
take beverage orders and serve wine, beer, cocktails and other drinks according to JAG standards
observe dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness, proper setup and service
ensure proper wine storing methods and conditions
partner with beverage leads, general manager and head chef to develop and improve wine training program
regularly demonstrate technique and proper execution of wine service and storage
conduct research on new products and opportunities
maintain communication with local vendors and distributors to ensure wine supplies and prevent shortages
assist in organization of wine-related events and festivals
ensure proper utilization of wine control methods at the restaurant level
attend monthly beverage manager meetings
assist in creation and maintenance of opening, closing and running side work and wine/glassware requisition and stock
Requirements:
Wine certification from a recognized organization a plus
knowledge of Spanish wines and regions
able to speak clearly, read, write and understand English
knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
thorough knowledge of menu items and service procedures
able to take direction and work in team environment
able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
must have problem solving abilities
self-motivated and organized
able to stand and walk 100% of the time
able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours
able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular basis
able to occasionally lift trays weighing up to 30 lbs
ability to speak, read, write and understand English
ability to take direction and work in a team environment
