Job Description

The Solution Sales Manager is responsible for the leadership of the Solution Sales Team in Ireland, typically managing a team of c.10 Solution Specialists across multiple locations. The role ensures that all portfolio targets for new business and revenue across the SMB and Large Enterprise segments are achieved, with a strong focus on SaaS and Microsoft-based solutions. This role drives additional revenue streams through solution sales, oversees sales execution and enablement, and ensures the team has a deep understanding of Vodafone's growing SaaS portfolio and associated sales plays delivered through a desk based sales model.

Job Responsibility

  • Achieve annual revenue, new business and share of value targets across the Solution Sales portfolio
  • Provide market insight on technology and solutions to shape the Vodafone operating company product roadmap
  • Drive strong collaboration between Solution Sales, Field Sales and Digital Sales to deliver an excellent, end to end customer experience
  • Deliver a high quality Solution Seller enablement and training programme to optimise client engagement and opportunity growth
  • Ensure the Solution Sales team partners effectively with wider Sales leadership to understand business requirements and drive performance to the highest standards
  • Personally lead and support the winning and retention of large, complex opportunities, including the top 5–10 strategic deals in the region
  • Engage in weekly partner trading cadence meetings to ensure robust pipeline management across all sales teams
  • Identify recurring themes, trends and gaps across solutions, technology, process or partner capability, and work with internal support functions to maximise commercial opportunity
  • Lead and govern opportunities driven by the Solution Sales team
  • Attract, develop and retain high performing sales talent, ensuring diversity of thought, background and experience
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to enable best in class sales performance, opportunity planning and deal management
  • Ensure opportunities are allocated appropriately across the team to maximise revenue growth
  • Own diversity, engagement and attrition targets within the Solution Sales team
  • Take responsibility for the ongoing education and upskilling of Account Managers to sell the full Vodafone portfolio, adapting to specific customer and vertical outcomes
  • Create new revenue streams through new solutions, partnerships and expansion within existing accounts

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing sales teams, including virtual or matrix teams
  • Strong background in technology sales, with expertise in Microsoft solutions such as Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Minimum 10 years of proven sales success
  • Strong execution mindset with a clear record of delivering against revenue and pipeline targets
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience operating in multinational, matrix organisations
  • Proficiency in English (additional languages an advantage

Nice to have

  • Deep experience within the Telecommunications or IT industry
  • Understanding of cloud, security, application and IoT solutioning
  • Experience with business outcome led sales methodologies
