As a Solution Engineer in our Tokyo office, you’ll play a vital role in proactively engaging with premium clients in Japan, facilitating the seamless integration of Taboola’s digital content into their websites and mobile applications. This role is centered on providing technical support and strategic consultation to both new and existing clients while working in close collaboration with Taboola’s business teams. The position involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders from various departments, including Sales & Account Management, Product Management, Production Support, and R&D, to ensure successful client onboarding and impactful product launches.

Job Responsibility

  • Consultation and Solution Design: Collaborate with internal and external clients to understand their requirements, offering tailored technical solutions that align with their needs and goals
  • Project Planning: Define project scopes, establish clear timelines, and assign responsibilities to stakeholders, ensuring a well-structured implementation process
  • Technical Implementation and Delivery: Execute technical configurations to meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and business objectives, ensuring the successful delivery of all technical aspects
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders by sharing regular updates on activities and progress in the Japan market
  • Client Engagement and Support: Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, addressing their inquiries promptly and effectively via appropriate channels
  • Issue Resolution and Follow-up: Troubleshoot and resolve technical and integration issues efficiently, escalating as necessary with thorough documentation
  • Ownership and Accountability: Take full responsibility for technical deliverables and issue investigations in the Japan market
  • Client Consultation: Provide technical insights during external client meetings, offering tailored solutions with or without the support of Taboola’s business teams
  • Data Analysis and Optimization: Continuously analyze data to identify opportunities for optimization, addressing abnormal trends proactively to maintain performance excellence
  • Process Adherence and Expectation Management: Drive operational efficiency by following established processes, guidelines, and best practices

Requirements

  • Japanese native with strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking) in a business environment, particularly for technical consultations
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience (e.g., Code School/Bootcamp)
  • Solid understanding of web front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Previous experience in IT solution engineering, IT implementation, or IT project management is required
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service, managing relationships with both internal and external teams
  • Excellent ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A positive team player with motivation, ambition, and innovative ideas, alongside great interpersonal skills
  • Strong multi-tasking ability, with the capacity to manage competing priorities effectively
  • A strong desire to learn new skills and continue self-improvement, with a passion for self-directed learning
  • Flexibility in working hours, as collaboration and coordination with a global team will be necessary

Nice to have

Experience in mobile app development or familiarity with the online media/advertising industry is a plus
