You will become a member of the border management’s architecture team and provide consulting services to the product and customer delivery teams, helping with guidance throughout the design and development process of our business opportunities. You will also be designing and developing solution architectures to meet business requirements and provide value for money. The ability to be hands-on and support product and project delivery and transition work is important in addition to an architecture and design role. As Solution Engineer Manager you will have the opportunity to be involved in the end-to-end solution process at both the sales and delivery stages of the customer relationship, translating customer aims and requirements into a new solution with agreement through our governance processes. Reporting to the Solution Engineer Director at SITA At Borders, you will be part of a team challenging the status quo, designing solutions that employ strong architecture frameworks and using technologies such as AI/Machine Learning, Biometrics Matching and Identity Management.
Job Responsibility:
Design/coordinate development of standard and complex solutions
Support account teams or competency centers during the pre-contract phases
Provide the technical qualification and own the technical parts of proposals
Promote SITA by furnishing customers with comprehensive up-to-date information
Facilitate designs to be efficiently implemented Right the First Time
Collaborate with colleague to gain and share ideas and opportunities
Account for designing solutions for large or complex programs
Ensure designs in compliance with Industry standards and architectural plans
Lead and coordinate with subject matter experts
Work with the architects, development, and products engineering teams
Assess the viability and value of new technologies and patterns
Understanding of system security
Requirements:
6–8 years of experience in Information Technology, Telecom Industry or Air Transport Industry technology in a technical pre-sales role or lead architect role
Experience working with government or public-sector customers is highly desirable
BS level Technical Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering Computer Technologies
Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues
Experienced in designing, integrating, and managing software solutions
Have a background in working in a systems integration industry
Proven track record in producing, communicating and documenting successful technical customer solutions
Pre-Sales Business and or Commercial experience is a plus
Have a very strong solutions & application architecture background
A willingness to keep up to date with developments in new technology
An understanding of information legislation, such as the Data Protection Act and GDPR
Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the end-to-end solution
Deliver and ensure quality assurance against the design during the project phases
Strong written and oral communication skills
Problem-solving and good analytical skills
Good organizational skills
Flexibility and adaptability
Team Player and self starter
Nice to have:
Experience in Aviation and borders industry
TOGAF certificate
ITIL
Experience with biometric technologies, cloud or hybrid architectures, international border standards, or security certifications
