Our client is a global leader in engineering, project and programme management, and solutions integration as well as a recognised partner across major UK Government and commercial programmes. They have an exciting opportunity for a Solution Architect to join their team supporting ICT infrastructure design activities for a UK defence project. You will act as the bridge between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that the ICT system design aligns with the client’s organisational goals and effectively supports their business operations.

Requirements:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect solutions to complex challenges
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within high-performing teams
Experience designing and delivering complex IT systems, ideally within Defence or high-assurance environments
Proven experience owning solution architecture and delivering outcomes across the full systems engineering lifecycle
Experience working with UK MOD customers (e.g., DE&S, Defence Digital) or similar organisations
Extensive IT knowledge: Possess deep expertise in a wide range of IT domains, including software development, network infrastructure, data management, virtualisation, and cloud computing
Continuous learning: Stay up-to-date with the rapidly evolving IT landscape, which requires continuous learning and adaptation
Be eager to learn new technologies and trends
Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, UAF, or equivalent
Modelling languages such as UML, SysML
Experience with modelling tools such as Sparx EA or equivalent
Strong understanding of security principles in Defence IT systems, including Secure by Design
Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., JSP 440, JSP 604, ISO 27001, NIST)
