Job Description:

Perform a variety of Solid Waste and Recycling duties; must be able to physically pick up garbage, follow all routes (town and rural), assist with weekly maintenance and inspection of all equipment and vehicles, and perform monthly inventory as directed by supervisor. The hours are Monday-Thursday (Garbage days only).

Job Responsibility:

  • Recording data on log sheets for solid waste pick up
  • Assist the public with unloading and loading of solid waste and recyclable materials
  • Assist with weekly maintenance and inspection of all equipment and vehicles
  • Perform monthly inventory as directed by supervisor
  • On non-garbage day (Wednesday) clean-up of Mother Earth
  • Perform a variety of Solid Waste and Recycling duties

Requirements:

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid Nebraska Driver's license and be insurable
  • Must be able to operate equipment and machinery
  • Must be able to maintain all equipment and machinery
  • Must be available for emergency situations as needed
  • Must be able to physically pick up garbage
  • Must be able to follow all routes (town and rural)
  • Must be able to assist with weekly maintenance and inspection of all equipment and vehicles
  • Must be able to perform monthly inventory as directed by supervisor
  • Must be able to wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, and vests) at all times
  • Must be able to work duties in different weather conditions (inside and outside)
  • Must be able to perform duties requiring lifting, bending, carrying, climbing, and twisting
