Job Description:

Join our dynamic Vehicle Hire and Damage team, where you’ll work on a diverse caseload and contribute to high-quality legal outcomes in a supportive and forward-thinking environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your expertise in motor litigation, working on cases ranging from Simple Procedure to Ordinary Cause, including fraud-related matters. You’ll also handle liability, indemnity, and associated losses such as personal injury, credit repair, and diminution.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as a point of contact for clients in relation to Scottish claims
  • Support marketing and business development activity within the team
  • Handle a caseload litigated claims with elements of credit hire, damage, fraud and injury claims and achieve measures
  • Maintain an awareness of the firm's strategies and plans
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firm's data security protocols
  • Court appearances as and when required
  • Meeting individual financial performance targets contributing to the team and wider products success

Requirements:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor who has demonstrable experience of handling a caseload
  • Have expertise in commercial litigation generally, with demonstrable experience in managing a varied caseload in the Scottish courts
  • Be highly organised and a confident negotiator and communicator with an outstanding eye for detail
  • Have excellent relationship and client handling skills
  • Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day issues
  • Be able to demonstrate a reasonable level of self-sufficiency, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority
  • Be proactive with a tenacious approach to identifying issues and solving problems
  • Have an ability to adopt a commercial perspective
  • Demonstrate alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive)
