Job Description

We are looking for a commercially minded solicitor with strong expertise in data protection and privacy to join our in‑house legal team. This role offers a broad mix of commercial advisory work with a focus on privacy compliance, covering the UK and Europe.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead on privacy and data protection matters, advising on GDPR, PECR, and related regulatory requirements
  • Draft and negotiate data protection agreements, data‑sharing terms, and privacy‑related contractual provisions
  • Support privacy impact assessments, data‑mapping exercises, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide pragmatic legal advice across a wide range of commercial matters, including drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including the Group’s standard contracts, frameworks, bespoke agreements, amendments, novations, services agreements, NDAs and supplier terms and conditions
  • Work with teams across the business to ensure compliant product development and operational practices
  • Monitor regulatory developments and guide the business on emerging privacy risks and obligations
  • Provide training and support to the Group to facilitate efficiency and strong working relationships

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with solid post‑qualification experience in commercial contracts and privacy/data protection
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and its application in a commercial environment
  • Ability to take a pragmatic and risk-based approach and comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent communication skills
