Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Solaris System Administrator with hands-on expertise in managing Oracle Solaris environments and exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate will be responsible for system administration, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability of enterprise systems.

Job Responsibility

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Solaris servers
  • Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies
  • Handle patch management, upgrades, and system hardening
  • Work on ZFS file systems, storage, and volume management
  • Support backup and recovery operations
  • Collaborate with application and database teams (Oracle DB preferred)
  • Provide L2/L3 support for production environments

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Oracle Solaris (10/11)
  • Good understanding of Unix/Linux fundamentals
  • Experience with ZFS, Zones, and Containers
  • Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash/Korn)
  • Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Exposure to cloud migration or hybrid environments
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Terraform – optional)
  • Understanding of security and compliance standards
  • Relevant certifications in Solaris/Oracle Cloud are a plus
