Job Description:

Responsible for the on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of solar field equipment at EDPR NA's operating solar-energy generation site. This includes completing Lock out Tag out (LOTO), Tail Board meetings, and job-specific documentation required to conduct solar turbine maintenance safely.

Job Responsibility:

  • On-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of solar field equipment
  • Completing Lock out Tag out (LOTO) procedures
  • Conducting Tail Board meetings
  • Performing inspections of equipment, tools, and facility
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of solar field equipment and associated components
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems
  • Perform mechanical and electrical component repair and replacement
  • Gather information regarding solar performance/issues
  • Comply with environmental health and safety programs
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Perform data collection and prepare reports
  • Work with Remote Operations Control Center
  • Perform QA/QC inspections
  • Document all work performed using SAP
  • Supervise contractors on site

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of college or technical school education, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 2-5 years relevant experience in solar energy or related industry
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, SQL Server software, facility management and reporting systems
  • Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment
  • Experience with power plant operations and maintenance, solar plant operations preferred
  • Understanding of Microsoft products preferred
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of valid driver's license
  • Ability to work around low- and medium-voltage equipment
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
  • Ability to work overtime on holidays and weekends
  • Ability to respond to site emergencies 24/7

Nice to have:

  • Renewable energy experience
  • Experience with power plant operations and maintenance
  • Experience with solar plant operations including power inverters
  • Experience with high-voltage switching
  • Experience with post-operational repair and maintenance of solar field components
  • Understanding of Microsoft products
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise
