Job Description:

The Solar FST I will be responsible for the on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at one of EDPR NA's operating solar generation sites. Responsibilities include completing Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Tail Board, and job specific documentation required to conduct PV solar system maintenance safely, performing equipment inspections for compliance with policies and regulations.

Job Responsibility:

  • On-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at solar generation sites
  • Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Tail Board, and job specific documentation
  • Perform inspections of equipment, tools, and facilities for compliance with safety guidelines and environmental regulations
  • Look for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures
  • Perform mechanical and electrical component repair and replacement of parts
  • Comply with all pertinent environmental health and safety programs
  • Act as a safety role model
  • Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM maintenance manuals
  • Work with and respond to Remote Operations Control Center
  • Perform QA/QC inspections in accordance with applicable SOP
  • Facilitate periodic equipment inspections and reporting
  • Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures (SAP)

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years relevant experience in PV Solar or a related industry
  • Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to work around low- and medium-voltage equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to other operational sites within the US as needed
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on holidays and weekends
  • Ability and willingness to respond to site emergencies 24/7 as needed
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Ability to walk .25 to .5 miles per day
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
  • Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions 25% of the time
