Job Description:

The Kelly Group is currently looking for an experienced Solar PV Surveyor to join our GGRS team due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of domestic installs. This role is key to getting jobs right first time — no guesswork, no re-visits, no issues landing on the install teams. You’ll be responsible for surveying domestic properties and setting installs up properly from day one. If you’ve been on the tools and know what causes problems on install day — you’ll fit straight in.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carrying out domestic solar PV surveys nation wide
  • Measuring roofs and assessing structure, pitch, access and safety
  • Identifying shading, orientation, and best panel layout
  • Planning cable routes (AC/DC), inverter & battery locations
  • Confirming positions for isolators, meters, and protection devices
  • Checking earthing & bonding (including gas/water services)
  • Assessing existing consumer units and upgrade requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with MCS requirements, BS 7671 (18th Edition), DNO (G98/G99) processes
  • Producing clear, accurate survey reports with photos
  • Flagging issues early (roof condition, access issues, structural concerns, etc)

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in solar PV or domestic electrical work
  • Experience with OpenSolar / PV*Sol
  • Be able to use CRM'S
  • Strong understanding of solar installs from survey through to commissioning
  • Ability to spot issues before they become problems
  • Confident speaking with customers on-site
  • Good attention to detail — surveys must be right first time this is important
  • Smart polite professional
  • Full UK driving licence

Nice to have:

  • Experience with OpenSolar / PV*Sol
  • 18th Edition or electrical qualifications
  • Roofing knowledge (tile, slate, flat roofs etc)
What we offer:
  • Competitive PAYE salary
  • 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Excellent opportunities for career progression
