QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic. QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Test team for the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for understanding, implementing, and testing both existing and new capabilities and algorithms, which include complex mathematics and physics-based solutions, that directly support GWS capabilities on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
Part of a team that writes the software (currently ~1.5 million lines of code) that evaluates and manages the threat scene for the missile defense system that protects the US
Requirements:
Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
Working knowledge of system design, requirements development, use cases, test plans, procedure preparation, and test execution
Recent experience with software testing or integration
Experience with Object-Oriented programming languages
Knowledge of Python and automation scripting
Applicants must demonstrate ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions
Capable of working both independently and within a team environment
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs
Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/teams comprised of all experience levels
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and at least 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree
Nice to have:
Experience with the MDA GMD program
Experience with Configuration Management tools such as Git, Gitlab, Bitbucket
Understanding of containerized virtual environments or experience with orchestration tools such as Podman, Docker, Kubernetes
Eggplant test automation tool experience
Understanding of root cause analysis and analyzing of large data log files
