Job Description

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will join the software development team developing software primarily in Ada but with a potential for new development to be done in a modular hybrid approach developing new modules in C++ being called from the ADA core software.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the team's roadmap, the vision of the team's products, the estimation of work required to complete capabilities, the planning of the work for the scrum team, producing the metrics that show the team's progress and briefing those metrics to program leadership
  • Technical performance in writing/developing software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM related field, and at least 8 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with at least 6 years of related experience, or at least 4 years with a PhD not to exceed 14 years
  • Recent and extensive Experience Developing Software in Ada or C++ or Java
  • Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada software development
  • Experience leading a technical team of 5 or more employees
  • Strong technical presentation skills
  • Experience estimating planning and scheduling software development work for a technical team
  • Eager to learn and absorb new concepts and information
  • Unix/Linux Operating System Experience
  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
  • Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
  • Proven experience understanding complex algorithms and implementing them in software
  • Proven team player willing to understand multiple aspects of the project
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented
  • Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
