Job Description

As a leader working in the G&E, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction for the group, deciding on product architecture in collaboration with Hardware, Software and Firmware teams to define power/performance optimal design. You will enable the team to deliver industry leading end to end solutions. You will also be responsible for representing display and video processing developers internally with other teams at AMD, ensuring that their feedback and requests are well-represented in many facets of AMD’s business.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with BUs and external customers, understanding their requirements and providing technical direction for our product roadmap in the display/video processing domain
  • Support and advise key decision makers in exploring trade-offs, providing data and technical expertise
  • Provide input to other parts of AMD’s business as required
  • Represent AMD in industry forums (ISO/IEC/SID), presenting and standardizing our architecture across different standards bodies for display and video processing technologies, and implementing solutions with performance/power/quality optimizations
  • Lead research activities in cutting-edge areas of display and video processing technology, with a focus on power, performance, and quality
  • Collaborate with other engineering groups who are undertaking applied research into ML-assisted display/video processing technologies within AMD
  • Use feedback from internal and external stakeholders to guide research direction
  • Innovate and mentor talent within the team to build expertise in the area of display/video processing

Requirements

  • Extensive system-level software development experience in managing display/video/image processing devices, device driver development, and system software engineering
  • Multiple years working as a technical leader
  • Excellent team management, product management, and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of display pipeline, video/image processing, machine learning, and power/performance/quality optimization
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Is willing to travel domestically and internationally on an occasional basis
  • Hand-on experience in color volume conversion including tone mapping, 1D/3D LUT etc.
  • Familiarity with windows OS and driver architecture
  • Knowledge in Machine Learning
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Advanced degrees (Ph.D.) in relevant areas are highly desired
