Job Description

The Software Supplier Manager role is an essential member of the software development team. Our TMs work with teams of experienced and highly skilled project and technical leaders in the delivery of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), User Experience (UX), Radar, and Compute and Security (C&S) products. Aptiv develops cutting edge Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems which enhances vehicle safety. Studies show just a half a second more warning can mitigate or prevent 60 percent of accidents. The underlying features such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assistance technologies (and more) that have the power to prevent accidents and save lives.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and Lead the Supplier management (implment ACQ.4) for the assigned products
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities, technologies, and service offerings
  • Create and manage RFQ (Request for quote) processes
  • Responsible for identifying, selecting, and managing suppliers to develop reliable and safe software
  • Maintain comprehensive contract (SOW) documentation to include negotiating favorable terms with SOW vendors, including scope, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules
  • Support Project team in coordinating the delivery of software from SOW teams, in accordance with Aptiv’s quality expectations while ensuring timely and efficient delivery
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers and rack software quality, reliability, and performance metrics
  • Analyzing data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing strategies to improve SOW team performance
  • Responsible for addressing issues with SOW teams, such as delays, or quality problems
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on supplier performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, computer or related field of study)
  • 5+ years of experience as embedded software developer or Systems engineer
  • 2+ years of experience including software project management and/or software supplier management leading global teams
  • Possesses good communication skills

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, computer or related field of study)
  • Familiarity with Automotive SPICE
  • Able to cultivate strong relationships within APTIV across all engineering and program management
  • Experience with Active Safety systems or Autonomous driving systems
  • Experience with SDLC tools such as JIRA, requirements management tools, and configuration management tools
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR
