Job Description:

The Software Packager role at NTT DATA involves designing, testing, and deploying software packages using tools like MSI Package Builder and SCCM. Job Responsibility:

  • Design, create, and test software packages using MSI Package Builder, ensuring compatibility and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Utilize SCCM and Intune for software distribution, application deployment, and patch management, optimizing the desktop environment.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) for virtualized application delivery, ensuring seamless integration with end-user systems.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate and streamline packaging processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual efforts.
  • Collaborate with application owners, IT teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements and understand software deployment needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application packaging, working closely with support teams and end-users.
  • Maintain an updated library of software packages, ensuring compliance with security and compliance standards.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in application packaging, including MSIX and APPX and evaluate their applicability to improve packaging processes.
  • Evaluates, engineers, tests, recommends, and implements secure infrastructures.
  • Acts as a resource for system escalation issues.
  • Documents platform standards and processes for ongoing operations.
  • Gathers business requirements for system design and validates recommended solution for Change Management.
  • Schedules and coordinates installation and maintenance of software/hardware on the network and ensures compatibility of all communications and computer hardware/software.
  • Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
  • Provides ongoing information to leadership, customers, and peers regarding enhancements, innovations and solutions.
  • Responsible for following company specific systems engineering standards.
  • Executive support technical escalations
  • RCA for high severity issue, CRQ Deployments during weekends and holidays.
  • On Call Support: shift for all required work and done during weekends.
  • Provide Technical Documentation and training to L1 and Service desk.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information System or equivalent knowledge is plus
  • Possess 5/10 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Proven experience as a Packaging Engineer with expertise in MSI Package Builder, SCCM, App-V, PowerShell, and VBScript.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop management tools.
  • Experience with MSIX packaging and deployment.
  • Strong scripting skills, particularly in VBScript, for automation of packaging processes.
  • Proficiency in SCCM for software distribution, application deployment, and patch management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) for virtualized application delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
  • This position requires a valid Canadian Security Clearance.
