Job Description:

Associate Director role in Enterprise Technology L3, responsible for transforming Treasury Technology organisation, establishing engineering excellence, and driving innovation strategies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support Leadership in transforming the Treasury Technology organisation into a highly-skilled, customer-centric value stream
  • Develop exciting career pathways that attract the best engineering candidates to the organisation
  • Establish a team of highly-skilled engineers that will then cross-pollinate best practice and engineering excellence across the organisation
  • Inspire the organisation to embrace innovation and help plan its innovation strategies
  • Design modernized organization structure and overall ways of working to accelerate transformation to product-oriented organization
  • Work as a trusted advisor to influence senior executives on transformation strategy and support the strategy implementation
  • Actively engage with business and operation teams, support value stream alignment within the organization
  • Assess team skill and capability maturity, define and implement training plan to match team and personal improvement roadmap
  • Introduce industrial best practices (e.g. DORA, SPACE framework) to build engineering excellence team
  • Coach DevSecOps improvement to uplift team's Mode-2 delivery maturity
  • Support management team to build 'blameless' culture, encourage experimentation and learn-from-failure
  • Coordinate innovation incubation events (e.g. Hackathon) to develop innovation climate within team
  • Coach delivery PODs' retrospectives to build continuous improvement mindset into DNA
  • Define and implement measurement to provide accurate visualization on team's delivery values
  • Coach team on building effective feedback loop with customers/business, incorporate customer feedback to evolve product
  • Own employee happiness survey, manage voice of employee to increase team happiness
  • Promote team's achievement to wider organization, internally and externally, to build the brand

Requirements:

  • University Degree (or above) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Willing to move career towards a hands-on full stack engineering lead
  • Demonstrable 7-10 years of commercial experience on developing both backend service and frontend UI solutions
  • Abilities to translate business level requirements to system level components or blocks
  • Proven working experience on micro frontends, deep knowledge of the web front end framework and technologies like Node.js, React.js, javascript, css, bootstrap, html5
  • Experience of developing web data visualization by using opensource or self-developed libraries like the Highchart, e-chart, Apache superset or ag grid

Any experience of customizing from coding level of open source solution like Apache superset
