Job Description:

Associate Director, Software Engineering (ITSO DevOps Service Manager) role working with DevOps enabled cross-functional teams to support best practice for incident and problem management, change and release management and monitoring for both production and non-production environments.

Job Responsibility:

  • Embed IT Service Management disciplines into day to day activities
  • Ensure DevOps and Service Management metrics and reports are in place
  • Assist cross-functional teams with problem management and retrospectives
  • Assist with change and release management
  • Ensure effective end-to-end service delivery
  • Identify changes to contingency/resilience requirements
  • Manage demise of components or services no longer required
  • Support transition to live - service acceptance process
  • Manage stability and avoidance of outages
  • Ensure Service Operability requirements are given appropriate focus
  • Ensure teams are adequately resourced and trained
  • Support culture of continuous monitoring
  • Take responsibility for responding to deviations from quality standards
  • Act as primary co-ordination point for service issues
  • Drive incident resolution across technology teams
  • Support Service Operability culture championing customer needs

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of ITIL, Agile and DevOps
  • Experience with ALM tooling such as App Dynamics, Splunk and Jira
  • Proven track-record of developing and delivering service improvements
  • Extensive experience of service management & application production support
  • Experience using service management, service monitoring, knowledge management, communication and workflow tools
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment
  • Availability to undertake travel both domestic and international
  • Flexible & committed approach, willingness to work outside of core hours
  • Relevant product knowledge including Internet Banking propositions
  • ITIL, Service Management qualifications
  • Proven experience of Application Support, Change and Release Management, Service Transition, Service Introduction or Service Management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decision maker, influencer and proactive self-starter
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Proven analytical skills & ability to deal with complex & technical data

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Internet Banking propositions or other customer facing applications
  • Role relevant qualifications (ITIL, Service Management qualifications)
