Job Description:

The role is accountable for ensuring that our technical deliveries realise Business Value. The role is accountable for multiple complex small to medium sized design deliveries or a single large technical design delivery. The roleholder will coach and mentor a multi-discipline team. The role ensures that the scope of delivery is understood, that the technical solution meets the business need and that plans are comprehensive and are achieved. The working domain for the role holder is in the IT & Cloud Monitoring space; including designing solutions for the Fixed Networks and Network Cloud programme; where technical design and delivery of solutions on Monitoring and Assurance toolsets needs to be managed realising Business Value and Outcomes. The role holder will be responsible for delivering new efficient solutions like closed loop auto-remediation and AI capabilities on DC and Cloud infrastructure hosted on Openstack or similar VIM, with leaf & spine network and a WAN underlay; consuming events and rich telemetry from applications, SDN and infrastructure alike by following Open API, TMF Standards and ODA architecture.

Role implements the defined architectural roadmap for the Assurance Area for the following: Fault Management
Resource Management
Incident Management
Change Management
Role involves defining and implementing the roadmap for Transformation of IT, DataCenter and Network Cloud applications in Service and Problem management
Manage, Engineer, Architect, Develop and Maintain applications in Network Management, OSS and FCAPS space

Requirements:

Deep knowledge on Networking domain along with solid understanding on OSS stack of Telecom including, Planning/Monitoring/Assurance
Having a strong grip on TMF standards with API based solution and Event based architecture patterns
Strong foundation on ODA Architecture patterns
Experience designing & solution and from an Engineering point of view with TMF complaint and ODA Architecture
Skilled in life cycle management of OSS tools/solutions including requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design & development, testing and deployment
Knowledge in various industry standard’s such as TMF, Open API
Lead and execute engineering initiatives to ensure the network cloud platform is easily consumable by products and solutions that are built on top of the platform
and at the sametime, is compliant with information security standards
Implement governance and controls to monitor and manage consumption and compliance with security and other standards
Implement and publish APIs for clients to consume platform services in a consistent way
Work with product owners to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and implement features based on service line demand, industry trends, known defects, and issues
Drive initiatives to identify right set of cloud technologies to be used for specific type of solutions and drive the effort to templatize and automate those technologies to be used at scale in all products and applications across OSS
Design and implement tools to monitor, and administer Cloud ready applications and the underlying services for multiple clouds (private and public)
Design and implement DevSecOps processes and CI/CD pipelines
Work with solution design peers in the other spaces Network Edge, IT OSS and other operational teams and define implementation roadmap and scope sprints to deliver fasterbusiness outcomes working across the teams
Build internal, external and third-party supplier relationships to ensure full commitment and support in execution of the design
Set and manage right expectations at different levels including clients and internal stakeholders with a vision towards long term relationships
Knowledge to deliver in Agile Methodologies and SRE
Drive strong engineering practices in the team
Ability to debug complex issues and provide the right solution
Technical Expertise: Be a subject expert and drive shared learning and collaboration. Be a leader in the industry and recognised externally as a thought leader and for making outstanding contributions to the industry, perhaps via a professional body
Stakeholder Management: Establishes a network of stakeholders, serving as an externally recognised expert in their field and influencing industry forums, external boards and/or conferences through technical expertise. Liaises with CFU and customer stakeholders, ensuring business needs are met through assurance of the design
Strategic / Enterprise Perspective: Able to create and articulate a compelling holistic strategic vision and roadmap to both colleagues and external contractors. This may require an ability to articulate complex information to colleagues working outside the technical space
Change Management: Able to create and sustain successful large scale and complex business change. An expert in change management
Process design & documentation: The ability to describe, map and document down to the procedural detail complete processes on a structured way. The ability to organise and structure the process flow in synchronisation with the exchanges with other processes
Experience you would be expected to have: Made decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information or differing opinions (eg divided team loyalties or unclear deliverables)
Aligned project plans and objectives with BT strategy and values
Actively participated in strategy setting sessions
To suit the needs of a customer, colleague or client
moved outside of expected process or practice
