Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead development teams working on Corporate Accounting Data applications.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers
  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture
  • Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers
  • Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters
  • Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase
  • Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners
  • Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources
  • Hire, build and guide a culture of talent development

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Nice to have:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including data engineering at enterprise scale
  • 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams or managers
  • Experience delivering platforms in highly regulated financial services environments
  • Strong track record of cross‑functional leadership and execution
  • Data technologies: Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks
  • Data platforms: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or equivalent
  • Java, Python, SQL
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, or GCP) with enterprise security controls
  • Distributed systems, APIs, and microservices
  • Data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and governance frameworks
  • DevOps and infrastructure‑as‑code practices
  • Lead and develop large, multi‑layered data engineering teams across locations
  • Build a strong leadership bench, succession plans, and a culture of engineering excellence and accountability
  • Act as a trusted technology advisor to senior business, risk, and technology leaders
  • Influence global stakeholders and contribute to enterprise‑wide data strategy and transformation initiatives
