Your future employer is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager with substantial engineering leadership and management experience. This individual will be expected to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and be responsible for building, managing, and mentoring diverse engineering teams, which may include managing other first-line managers. The role requires formulating and executing technical strategies, coordinating efforts across management, and ensuring effective people management and project delivery.
Job Responsibility:
Drive significant, large-scale results through their teams and projects
Define the technical strategy and roadmap for the group, establishing clear success metrics and executing initiatives using agile methodologies
Partner with tech leads and architects to solve complex technical challenges
Implement and champion effective engineering processes across the team
Mentor and manage the professional growth of each direct report through performance management and coaching
Provide engineers with the tools, confidence, and motivation to make independent, impactful decisions
Initiate and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships (with Product, Business, and Operations teams) to gather feedback, define requirements, and ensure technical alignment across all stakeholders
Requirements:
10+ years of professional experience
Experience working with very large-scale applications
Management experience
Strong proficiency in problem-solving, data structures, and algorithms
Experience designing and managing distributed systems that handle significant amounts of data
Excellent coding skills in at least one major language
