Job Description:

Our Growth Engineering team takes a first-principles approach to scaling revenue through thoughtful engineering, data, and applied AI. We build systems that turn complex signals into action, helping teams move faster, work smarter, and focus on what matters most. We’re innovating in how growth systems shape interactions across the revenue motion, connecting internal teams and customer signals into a tighter, smarter feedback loop. By using AI to learn from outcomes and reduce friction, we experiment where traditional approaches tend to fall short. The systems this team builds are highly visible across the organization and play a meaningful role in how Verkada grows. Our focus is on creating durable growth platforms and measurement capabilities that enable product, marketing, and revenue teams to deliver timely, relevant, and increasingly personalized experiences at scale. This role will report into our Senior Director of Growth Engineering.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and grow a high-performing Growth Engineering team through inclusive hiring, mentorship, and clear technical leadership
  • Set technical direction and prioritize initiatives that accelerate customer acquisition and expansion, with an eye toward longer-term lifecycle, cross-sell, and retention opportunities
  • Partner closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and revenue teams to design and build AI-powered products and workflows that improve GTM efficiency and effectiveness
  • Own the evolution of our growth platforms, including data pipelines, experimentation frameworks, and products used by teams and customers at Verkada
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party solutions where appropriate, making thoughtful build vs. buy decisions grounded in impact and scalability
  • Act as an engineering architect by defining system design, making key technical decisions, and translating business goals into durable technical roadmaps
  • Stay hands-on through prototyping and targeted development to validate ideas, unblock progress, and maintain a deep understanding of the systems you lead

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience managing and developing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with demonstrated strength in designing scalable, reliable systems
  • Experience delivering complex projects in an dynamic environment, balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator who communicates clearly and builds alignment across technical and non-technical partners
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies—especially AI/ML—and how they can be applied to real GTM problems

Nice to have:

  • Preferred: experience with Python, SQL, AWS
  • Preferred: Familiarity with DAG-based workflow tools and data warehouses
What we offer:
  • Healthcare programs that can be tailored to meet the personal health and financial well-being needs - Premiums are 100% covered for the employee under at least one plan and 80% for family premiums under all plans
  • Nationwide medical, vision and dental coverage
  • Health Saving Account (HSA) with annual employer contributions and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) with tax saving options
  • Expanded mental health support
  • Paid parental leave policy & fertility benefits
  • Time off to relax and recharge through our paid holidays, firmwide extended holidays, flexible PTO and personal sick time
  • Professional development stipend
  • Wellness/fitness benefits
  • Healthy lunches provided daily
  • Commuter benefits
