Job Description:

You will lead a software engineering team that builds the entirety of a particular, high-impact product line within Cameras team. The team works in concert with a product manager and a hardware manager to define and conceptualize the current and future product offerings, including hardware and software architecture selection. From a technical perspective, the embedded software stack runs on an x86-based platform, necessitating work on: UEFI, bootloader, drivers, custom Linux OS distribution via yocto project, containerization, solid-state and hard disk storage, filesystem and block device mapping. The device interacts with a scalable cloud backend consisting of golang and python services in a typical microservice architecture stack. A Verkada proprietary suite of streaming technologies are implemented to provide high quality live and recorded video. Frontends include both web and mobile. Security technologies including encryption, signing, secure/trusted boot are also key to our implementation. This product also implements high performance AI inference and computer vision (CV) features, which require optimization and productionization work in collaboration with the computer vision team that trains all our models.

Requirements:

  • Deep experience with modern Linux system architecture and software
  • 2+ years experience in a management / startup leadership role
