Job Description:

We are seeking skilled and passionate software developers to join our volunteer team. This is a unique opportunity to use your technical expertise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children battling cancer and their families. As a Software Engineering Intern with the Childhood Cancer Society, you will work on impactful projects, including the development of in-house software and applications that support our mission.

Job Responsibility:

Work on impactful projects, including the development of in-house software and applications that support our mission

Requirements:

Proficiency in Python (1+ years of experience)
Familiarity with Git version control (1+ years of experience)
Knowledge of Unix shell scripting (1+ years of experience)
Strong understanding of debugging and error-handling in Python applications
Understanding of REST API development and integration
Knowledge of unit testing and asynchronous programming in Python
Strong documentation skills for technical projects

Nice to have:

Experience with databases (e.g., SQLite, MySQL, MongoDB) for data persistence
Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
Experience with discord.py for building and managing bots, including commands, events, and API interactions
Familiarity with Discord server configurations, bot permissions, and role management
Basic frontend development skills (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
Portfolio/GitHub showcasing examples of coding experience
