Our team builds the Fluent AI React library – the AI‑specific components and chat patterns that power Copilot experiences across Microsoft 365 web applications such as M365 Copilot, Office, Teams, and Outlook. Our mission is to accelerate the development of highly crafted, performant, accessible, and delightful AI experiences across all M365 applications through building on shared systems.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to the Fluent AI React library by building new components and improving existing patterns for Copilot experiences
Build relationships with partner teams across M365 to understand their needs and challenges
Explore creative ways to leverage AI in your work
Share knowledge and help create an environment where engineers can learn and grow
Foster a healthy and inclusive team environment
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with technologies including, but not limited to, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and building shared libraries and/or component systems
OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
Microsoft Cloud Background Check
Nice to have:
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
3+ years of experience with React and TypeScript in production applications
3+ years of experience building and maintaining shared libraries or component systems
3+ years experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and building accessible components
3+ years experience with the full component lifecycle: from initial research to product deployment
