Job Description:

Join our Developer Services Deployment Tooling Team as a Software Engineer and help build the solution that powers software deployment for over 20,000 engineers company wide. As a Software Engineer on this strategic team, you'll contribute to critical systems and tools that directly impact how our global engineering organization develops, tests, and deploys software. The Deployment Tooling team will be positioned to evaluate, build and support advanced deployment tooling extensions to our established GitLab enterprise toolchain platform. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on platform services, developer tooling, and infrastructure projects that enable teams to deploy their software more efficiently and safely whilst implementing bank wide controls. Job Responsibility:

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability

Requirements:

  • Experience designing and implementing distributed systems with microservices architecture and applying software design patterns (SOLID principles, Factory, Observer, Strategy)
  • Proficiency in Java development (Golang and C# would also be considered)
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS and other public cloud platforms (RDS, S3, EC2, ECS)

Nice to have:

  • Experience in designing enterprise systems that are highly available and scalable
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and optimization
  • Other scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)
  • Experience of advanced toolchain deployments such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Harness, Spinnaker, Octopus Deploy, Ansible, Nolio are highly advantageous
