Software Engineer

• Design, develop, and maintain database architectures, ensuring optimal performance and security
• Implement data models and database structures that meet the needs of applications and reporting
• Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Manage database backup and recovery processes to prevent data loss
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security standards
• Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and data analysts to support application development and data needs
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high availability and reliability
• Conduct regular database audits and implement improvements based on findings
• Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus
• 4-6 years of experience in database engineering or a related field
• Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL and experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and data warehousing solutions
• Experience with database migration and upgrade processes
• Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
• Strong understanding of data security practices and regulatory compliance
• Scripting skills in languages like Python, Perl, Shell, or PowerShell for automation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
