Job Description:

Intermediate Software Engineer position on the PagerDuty Advance team, focused on transforming digital operations with intelligent automation and cutting-edge agent technology. Opportunity to shape the future of AI platform and drive innovation in a newly developed AI First division.

Job Responsibility:

Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems with a focus on AI and agent/chatbot technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and drive innovation in digital operations
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to deployment and support
Take part in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and reliability of our services
Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and mentor other engineers
Work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Requirements:

2+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development
Experience shipping code as part of a team in a production environment
Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and scalable backend architectures
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Curiosity in AI + building cutting edge AI features
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have:

Experience with LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI or similar frameworks used to build AI Agents
Background as a Backend Engineer with AI experience, or as a Machine Learning Engineer with product development experience
Experience working in SaaS or cloud-based environments
Recent hands-on experience in AI or chatbot development
Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Experience mentoring or leading other engineers
