A long-standing, nationally recognized financial services company is making a major investment in modernizing its core technology. They’re stable, profitable, and operate at meaningful scale—but their next chapter requires a shift from a large C#/.NET monolith to a modern, service-oriented, serverless architecture. This is a key engineering hire who will play a central role in that transformation.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the design and development of new microservices in Node.js, helping break apart a mission-critical monolith
Build serverless applications and event-driven systems on AWS
Collaborate with product, operations, and senior leadership to translate business workflows into scalable technical solutions
Improve reliability, performance, and observability across the platform
Contribute to architectural decisions, coding standards, and modernization strategy
Support and gradually deprecate legacy .NET components as new services come online
Requirements:
4+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong backend fundamentals and experience with Node.js (or willingness to ramp quickly)
Familiarity with C#/.NET is a plus, especially for navigating and extracting logic from the monolith
Experience with AWS, serverless frameworks, or event-driven architectures
Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, and cloud-native patterns
A builder’s mindset—comfortable working through ambiguity and shaping new systems
