The Windows Enterprise & Security (ENS) team builds foundational capabilities that keep Windows client and server secure and trusted at global scale, spanning areas such as hardware-backed security, cryptography, identity and authentication, and enterprise management. As a Software Engineer in ENS India, you will work with senior engineers to build and improve Windows enterprise and security features, contribute fixes for customer and internal issues, and grow your engineering skills in a high-impact, security-critical domain.
Job Responsibility:
Implement well-scoped features that support enterprise and security scenarios in Windows, under guidance from senior engineers
Reproduce, debug, and fix issues using strong fundamentals and a methodical approach, escalating appropriately and learning from reviews
Write high-quality, low-risk fixes with attention to correctness and minimizing application compatibility impact
Contribute to team engineering practices: code reviews, unit/integration testing, and documentation to support maintainability and quality
Collaborate with partners across geographies and functions to deliver on shared goals and timelines
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Solid fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
Familiarity with debugging and problem solving in complex codebases
ability to learn quickly and apply feedback
Solid communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a global team
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
