We are seeking a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead high-impact infrastructure initiatives for Microsoft Purview, driving technical strategy and execution with broad visibility across teams and ensuring compliance with stringent security and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibility:
Builds and maintains automated pipelines to reduce manual steps and improve deployment speed.
Optimizes cost and efficiency through telemetry, dashboards, and targeted improvements.
Enhances architecture and reliability by refactoring components and applying best practices.
Collaborates across teams to align dependencies and co-deliver features with shared ownership.
Drives cross-cloud parity and compliance by integrating Purview capabilities and audit readiness.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, GO, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Nice to have:
1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, GO, or Python.
Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), including monitoring performance and telemetry to drive continuous improvements.
Knowledge of update servicing, security fundamentals, or large‑scale system design.
