Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Software Engineer (Billing System) to join our Information Technology & Digital Strategy team in our Athens Offices. At METLEN Energy & Metals, we are catalysts for a sustainable future and operate at the forefront of energy transition and green metallurgy. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing billing system functionalities, maintaining and improving the billing platform, and supporting billing-related processes.

Job Responsibility:

Design, develop, and optimize billing system functionalities using Java
Oversee billing operations, perform audits, and apply necessary corrections
Work closely with third-party developers to translate business needs into functional improvements
Participate in UATs and QATs to ensure smooth system updates
Integrate software components for a fully functional and efficient billing platform
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards
Provide expert-level support to resolve billing-related issues
Identify opportunities to enhance our billing processes and implement innovative solutions
Keep our software up to date with the latest features and advancements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Master’s Degree in a related discipline will be considered an asset
5+ years in an IT Billing role, preferably in the retail industry
Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
Non-relational DBs are considered a plus
Ability to develop software in Java script is essential
Deep understanding of software design patterns and best practices
Fluency in English is essential
Hands-on experience with software engineering tools

Nice to have:

Master’s Degree in a related discipline
Non-relational DBs are considered a plus
