Job Description:

Software Engineer role as part of Specialisterne’s Neurodiversity Hiring Initiative with Goldman Sachs. This is an 8-week internship with the opportunity to transition to full-time. The role involves developing applications, managing data, and driving strategic initiatives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Solve complex problems at scale and develop high-performance quality applications with a global user base
  • Build and deploy modern data management tools to curate key client reference data sets, models and workflows
  • Evaluate, select and acquire new internal or external data sets that contribute to business decision making
  • Engineer data processing pipelines while identifying areas for process automation and improving efficiency
  • Partner with data platform teams to adopt cloud-based processing pipelines and data distribution
  • Drive strategic initiatives and delivery of key programs of work across the Client Data or Vendor Data department and the broader division

Requirements:

  • Self-identify with neurodivergent labels or identities (Autism, ADHD/ADD, Learning Disability, Intellectual Disability, OCD, Tourette Syndrome)
  • Have experienced barriers to finding/maintaining employment related to neurodivergence
  • Open to receiving workplace support from Specialisterne
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • The ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and communicate complex ideas in a simple manner

  • Basic data modeling skills using Excel or similar tools
  • Basic version control skills in Git

  • Will be invited to participate in a Structured Candidate Meeting with the hiring manager(s)

Nice to have:

  • Basic knowledge of working with complex business processes, data flows and consuming large amounts of data
  • Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure
  • Experience (professional, personal, or academic) with: Working on a project using AGILE methodology
  • Working with others via code reviews
  • Testing frameworks
  • AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude Code
