Job Description:

Cross Product Technology is a division that supports the investment bank area for HSBC, focusing on building technology solutions to support multiple areas. The department emphasizes DevOps/Agile practices, flexible working, and cross-functional teams. Projects include on-premises digital platforms, Single Dealer Platforms, AI/ML tools, and internal collaboration tools. Responsibilities include developing solutions, maintaining existing systems, and supporting products in production.

Job Responsibility:

Work within a team of 4 - 6 people with a dedicated product owner
Take a business requirement, divide it up into stories and deliver each story iteratively to production
Provide product support
Identify areas of technical debt and ensure a healthy balance of tech debt and new functionality is prioritised and worked on
Design solutions for new items and ensure adherence to technology guidelines
Pair with other team members.

Requirements:

Willingness to learn multiple programming languages
Demonstratable experience of one language. We predominantly use Java, Javascript (client & server)
Working knowledge of unix
Must understand databases from a consumer point of view
Knowledge of HTTP APIs e.g. RESTful APIs
Communication within the team is mainly in English.
